There are several ways to find the name of your computer.
Typically when you raise a incident or support ticket we will need to know your computer name.
Your computer name will always be the serial or TAG number of your desktop computer.
1. Have a look for a sticker on the outside of your computer, look for the serial or TAG number.
2. If you are logged into your computer, you can get the computer name from the system properties.
For Windows 10 computers simply type System Information into the search box and hit enter.
Under system summary, system name (4th line down) is the computer name
3. If you are logged in, you can get the computer name from the command prompt
For Windows 10 (and Windows 7) simply type CMD into the search or run box and hit enter
Once the command prompt is open type echo %computername% and hit enter.
The computer name will be returned.
4. If you are unable to log in, for example, you're getting the error message "The security database is unavailable", delete the username and type .\ the logon to will change (under the password box) from Deltic to the name of the computer.
