Self Service Password Reset (SSPR).

    If you have been invited to enrol in to Self Service Password Reset and have set up your alternative contact email address, you can reset your password online from any device.

        Log into Office.Com

        Enter your password, if you cannot log in, use the 'forgot' password link and follow the instructions.

        If you are automatically logged in, click 'settings' and under settings click 'change your password' and follow the instructions.

        Or

        Click on your initials in Office.com  and select 'View account'. In the Password Tile, click 'change password' and follow the instructions.


Standard Password Reset.

    If you have not been invited to enrol in to Self Service, please log a helpdesk ticket, there maybe a good reason why you haven't been invited (you maybe using an account shared with other people for instance), or we have made a mistake.

    On a network connected computer (either VPN, Venue or HUB) press CTRL+ALT+DEL

    Choose 'Change Password'

    Enter your current (old) password

    Enter and confirm your new password

    

Password Caching Notes.

    If you are in the venue or HUB, you should close all applications, log off and log back in again using your new password.

    If you are a VPN user and connected to the VPN during the SSPR, CTRL+ALT+DEL and select 'lock'. CTRL+ALT+DEL again and use your new password to unlock. Disconnect from the VPN and re-connect with your new password. The next time you restart you can log in locally with your new password

    If you completed the SSPR disconnected from the VPN; Log onto the Laptop with your old password, connect to the VPN with your new password, CTRL+ALT+DEL and select 'lock'. CTRL+ALT+DEL again and use your new password to unlock. The next time you restart you can log in locally with your new password.


General Password Change Notes.

Password Complexity:

   

  • Must not appear on Microsoft’s own banned password list (e.g.Password123!) 
  • Must not be a previous password.
  • Must not have repeating characters (e.g. aaaabbbbccc)
  • Minimum of 10 characters.
  • Must not be ‘like’ your username
  • Must have a combination of at least 3 of the following:
    • Lowercase
    • Uppercase
    • Numbers
    • Special Characters @ # $ % ^ & * - _ ! + = [ ] { } | \ : ' , . ? / ` ~ " ( ) 

Office Apps

Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel etc.) are licenced using your email address and password (to prove who you are), your password will need to be updated in at least one of these apps to continue to use them

OneDrive will ask for your new password.
